Larry Knetchel (Bread) great portrait
Yakima-Herald-Republic website has just published a great portrait of legendary Larry Knetchel entitled Making More Music, I quote :
"Larry Knechtel, who once played keyboard for the musical group Bread, is now living a more relaxed life but still playing. He is currently playing in Yakima with Wayman Chapman at the Flight Deck Lounge on Friday nights.
First thing, Larry Knechtel says in a gruff, matter-of-fact way — "no dirty laundry."
"I'm saving that for my book," quips the silver-haired 65-year-old Los Angeles native as he settles into the leather couch occupying a small piece of his spacious Naches farmhouse.
A mammoth Steinway piano takes up almost the entire other half of the living room.
A handful of picture frames with photos of his three grandkids in Halloween costumes mugging for the camera sit on top of the Steinway ... right next to Knechtel's Grammy.
"I think they make them bigger now," he says of the small brass phonograph statuette he received in 1970 for his work with Simon & Garfunkel (...)
"When I wasn't playing, I wasn't happy," says Knechtel (...)."

I'm a friend of Larrys from Nashville days and when he and Vickie lived in Franklin, TN. We lost track because I believe they moved back to Wash. state or something. Anyway, if at all possible, pass this note on to Larry and ask him to write saying hello. Thanks, Keith Destry

I am Larry's "long lost cousin." I haven't seen him in many years, though I have followed his music. This past summer, I had a chance to see my aunt (his Mother) and his younger brother in Alabama. They told me that Larry was retired now. Boy does that make me feel old, all of my cousins AND my own brother are retired! Anyway, if you can pass on to Larry, that his cousin Darrell says Hello from Florida.

Hi.
I'm trying to find out how the e. piano phase/Wah sound on 'IF' was done? What effects were used? Or was it a guitar?
Thanks,
Ron

Larry will be playing with Wayman Chapman at Piety Flats Winery, just outside Yakima, WA, on Saturday, June 30th during the annual the Red, White and Blues Fest. Come listen!
