Google creates a Ray Charles logo for Ray Charles birthday date

Google has created today a Ray Charles logo for Ray Charles birthday date and put it at the frontpage of Google.com.
Ray Charles (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004) was a pioneering pianist and soul singer who helped shape the sound of rhythm and blues and brought a soulful sound to everything from country music to pop standards to "God Bless America". His birth name was Ray Charles Robinson, but he shortened it when he entered show business to avoid confusion with the famous boxer Sugar Ray Robinson.
Born in Albany, Georgia, Charles began going blind at around age five and was totally blind by age seven. He said that the causes were undiagnosed, but many believe it was as a result of glaucoma. Just before his eyes began to fail, he had seen his younger brother drown in a washtub. He attended school at the St. Augustine School for the Deaf and the Blind in St. Augustine, Florida as a charity case. There, he not only learned how to read Braille, but to write music and play various instruments.
By the time he was 15, both his parents had passed away. Charles began working as a musician in Florida, eventually moving to Seattle, Washington in 1947. He soon started recording, achieving his first hit song with "Baby, Let Me Hold Your Hand" (1951)...
Order now Ray Charles new and posthumous album "Genius Loves Company":

Ray I grew up listening to your music and now it is a pleasure to find myself a jazz programme presenter playing your music on radio.

Ok, I see Ray Charles now in the logo, with his head tilted back.
But when I first saw the logo, I saw instead a guy looking straight ahead, wearing a pair of airline blinders on his forehead, and with a scruffy chin beard and eyes very close together in a confused stare, and I thought "is this a tribute to Randy Newman?"
Now I see it becomes Ray Charles when the beard turns into a bowtie, Randy's eyes turns into Ray's mouth, and Randy's forehead blinders turn into Ray's eyeglasses.

It was a great tribute to Ray....and now it's disappeared. What happened to the icon Google?

yea - i didn't see Ray in the logo until I tried to find out what it really was. I always saw what looked like a comedian with either glasses on his head and a slick for a hair-do and no back to the neck... wierd. i think they could've done better...

The world became a darker place with the passing of Ray Charles. He was an original. Thank you Google.

Thanks Googlefolk, very inspiring, just like Ray . . .
Pardon my waggishness, but I think Ray would have liked this:
God is Love . . .
Love is Blind . . .
Ray Charles is blind . . .
Therefore, Ray Charles is God!
And wasn't he just, though?

Anyone who can't see ray charles in that picture has to be the biggest idiot ever. it's clearly a picture of ray, and it couldn't be anymore clear with the style they wanted. it's a classic ray pose, and anyone who had the least bit of respect for him would know that. I'm tired of people saying "I couldnt tell its ray, i think it looks like someone with glasses on their head"... are you joking? The first time i looked at it i said.. look its ray!!! And even if you are that stupid, why do you feel that you have to share it with the world. If your so incompetant that you cant see a picture of ray in his most famous pose, don't call yourself a fan. You're Not. Google did an awsome job.
btw... randy newman.. wtf... how stupid can you be?
