Alana Grace, a young singer-songwriter, has been signed by Columbia Records, with plans to release her debut album in 2005.
Music fans will get their first taste of the music of Alana Grace when they hear her original song, "Black Roses Red," a key track on the soundtrack of the upcoming teenage coming-of-age film "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," from Alcon Entertainment/Warner Bros. Pictures. Based on the New York Times young adult fiction bestseller by Ann Brashares, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"--starring Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel--opens nationwide on June 3, 2005. "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" soundtrack album is in stores on Tuesday, May 24 from Columbia Records/Sony Music Soundtrax.
An extraordinary singer and charismatic performer, 17-year-old Alana Grace spent the past five months (December 2004-April 2005) in a Los Angeles studio with producers Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Eve 6) and John Fields (Switchfoot, Pink, Andrew WK) creating one of the most eagerly-anticipated recording debut albums of the year.
She's cowritten all of the songs on her as-yet-untitled debut, which is mixed by music industry legends Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, the Cure, Aerosmith) and Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Hoobastank, Alanis Morissette).
Alana Grace is managed by Jon Landau Management and is represented by Creative Artists Agency.

Wow, Alana Grace's song "Black Roses Red" made me bawl!! It's such a powerful song, very unique with great vocals. I can't wait to get her debut album!! :)

Me and nine of my friends are in love with the movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. So far we have seen it in theaters 4 times and cried every time. Thats where I first heard of Alana Grace and have been in love with her music ever since. I would have to say my favorite song is Black Roses Red!!

I heard Black Roses Red on movie tunes while waiting to see Batman Begins. I looked around and saw many people, young and old, moved by Black Roses Red...Heads Moving, Feet moving... It was pretty cool to see...I knew I had to hear it again... it had a great sound in an IMAX theater by the way... Very mature music for seventeen.

I heard it first on sisterhood of the travelling pants(btw, it went great with the part Lena was in - so touching).. and eversince thn.. its been the only one song i keep hearing over n over again.. i could so relate to her lyrics aswell.. shes amazing! her voice, her own lyrics, the beat to 'black roses red' - perfect... and shes only 17 like me.. very talented :)

I Love Alana Grace's song, i never really noticed it on the movie, which i also love, but when i bought the soundtrack it instantly bacame my favorite song! I also like the fact that on the soundtrack the people who sing arent well known, so it feels more personal

ooo man i am a dancer and as always whenever i watch movies...anymovie...i always listen to the music to see if I could coreograph to any of it. And of corse BLACK ROSES RED was sooooo beautiful, i am coreographing the lyrical piece right now and i cant wait to audition it! The girls are gonna love it! Its soo touching! Anyone know when her album comes out???

I got her Black Roses Red song stuck in my head after watching Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants over and over again on digital cable. One day I finally realized how awesome that song was and googled my brains out trying to find out who sang it. Now I can hear more of her music on MySpace and she has such an awesome voice and lyrics. But now I'm googling my brains out just to find out where and when I can buy her CD!!! Must have it now!!!
