The first Wilson Phillips album in 12 years will be released in May!! It’s a theme album of songs from California and the title will be Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Peter Asher is the producer. "Monday Monday" (Mamas and Papas) is one of the songs that Wilson Phillips covered. “Pacific Coast Highway” will be distributed by Columbia records.

Via Fastlane Eagles News. According to Rolling Stone Magazine, the Eagles were the 3rd biggest money makers in Rock last year (with a total amount of $62.9 million). The Rolling Stones were #1 and Bruce Springsteen was #2.

Via Billboard.com. This is confirmed: Actors Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are confirmed for Sunday's (Feb. 29) 76th Academy Awards ceremony. The duo will perform their nominated song "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" from "A Mighty Wind." Michael McKean (who is in the film), wrote the song with his wife, Annette O'Toole. As previously announced, Bruce Gaitsch is in the backing band of the duet for tonight The Oscars ceremony.
Other performers nominated for Best New Song at the 76th Academy Awards ceremony are: Sting, Alison Krauss, Elvis Costello, T Bone Burnett and Annie Lennox.

Planet Us is a new band featuring 2 ex-Journey members: Neal Schon (guitars) and Deen Castronovo (drums), Jeff Scott Soto (vocals) and Marco Mendoza (bass). Aso include is Sammy Hagar as a guest vocalist.

At The Oscars, the 76th Annual Academy Awards that will take place in Los Angeles tonight, Michael McKean and Annette O'Toole are nominated for their song "A Kiss At The End of the Rainbow" as Best Music Song featured in the documentary movie "A Mighty Wind" directed by Christopher Guest.
If you look at TV telecast of The Oscars, you will see in the band Mister Bruce Gaitsch himself that will play guitar on stage for "A Kiss At The End of the Rainbow" interpretation during the show. Please remember that Bruce plays guitar in "A Mighty Wind" film.

Larry Carlton, Nathan East, Bob James and Harvey Mason are in Los Angeles recording the second Fourplay project for BMG. Expect a summer release. The group plans a few May dates in California and will begin touring the U.S. in August.

Carl Anderson died Monday (Feb 23) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, seven months after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was 58. Anderson was born in Lynchburg, Va and was a big Jazz lover having played with Weather Report, Keiko Matsui, Rippingtons, Richard Elliot and Eric Marienthal among others. His biggest hit was "Friends and Lovers," a duet with Gloria Loring from 1986. As an actor Anderson appeared on Hill Street Blues and The Color Purple. He is survived by his wife, Veronica, a son, two stepdaughters and several sisters. In a statement on his official website. The family posted this wish. "In lieu of flowers or gestures of sympathy, Carl would have wanted you to make your most generous tax-deductible contributions to (...)."

This message for those who don't get the beautiful song I'm crazy about since I discovered it on Michael Sembello's Official site. The song is "Carousel" and was written to appear on Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album. On the "Special edition" recent release of "Thriller", you can find an extract of that song... But why an extract??? I don't know who is guilty and work to keep this kind of treasure far away of the listener, but it's a shame!
