I had the great pleasure of playing (st. bass) with Marvin at
the 3d Inf. Div. Band combo at
Ft. Benning, GA. I last saw him
in Aug. of 1965 in West L.A. He
was a dear, dear person and a
consummate musician. I am sorry
I didn't keep in touch with him in our later years. The last time was when a limo was taking him to the Crystal Cathedral to
accompany Della. Rest in Peace.
Rodger Vaughan

I am very sorry to learn of Marvin's death. I remember his great music in 1960 with Barney Kessel at the Sanbah Room in L.A. and Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse. I have been trying to find his hauntingly beautiful composition "Ella G" or "Ellegy" which he played on most nights during this time. Does anyone know whether it was ever recorded?

My name is Gary Jenkins, i am a drummer and the cousin of Marvin Jenkins. My cousin was a great person and a great musician and i miss him very much. Marvin could keep you laughing with his jokes and life experiences on the road. May God keep him, rest in peace Marv, I love you very much! your cous Gary
