"FortuneTeller’s Melody", fourth studio album from SHeDAISY

Shedaisy

SHeDAISY is an American country music group made up of three sisters: Kassidy, Kelsi and Kristyn Osborn. They began playing at an early age, often singing for relatives in their hometown of Magna, Utah. They are also members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kristyn is the oldest of the three, and Kassidy is the youngest.

"FortuneTeller’s Melody" represents the fourth studio album from multi-platinum selling SHeDAISY. It’s different from all previous titles in that from the first song through the last track, it presents an entire story. SHeDAISY’s Kristyn Osborn, who co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks on the new CD, relates the story behind each song in her own words.

Gino Vannelli's new album "these are the days"

Gino

Gino Vannelli, is one of the greatest musicians and most intriguing artists of our time. Part philosopher, musician, composer and poet, he brings these talents together in his music. He is a perfectionist, breaking all the rules to journey to the heart and soul of a musical inspiration.
He has broken away from the stereotypical role of sex symbol in the 1970's to journey into the realm of jazz and classical music. Combining these arts with pop and rock, along with his own spiritual findings he has created a sound that is truly his own. The result of practicing his art is nearly three decades of some of the most beautifully crafted music one could ever hear. The music he writes and performs is truly inspiring. By pouring his heart and soul into his music, Gino has created works of incredible style and perfection.

Seven of Gino's timeless classics are included on his new album, "These Are The Days," alongside seven new pop hits in the making. In 2006 Gino remains one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary pop music with his return to pop on this album.

"Back to the Well”, Lee Roy Parnell's new release!

Leeroy

Part of a long line of Texas roots-music eclectics, Lee Roy Parnell's music was a blend of hardcore honky tonk, barroom rock & roll, blues, boogie, Western swing, blue-eyed soul, and occasional gospel. Unlike many other hard-to-pigeonhole artists, Parnell actually enjoyed a run of success on the country charts in the early '90s.

Launched with a funky, shuffling backbeat that sets the stage for the entrance, seconds later, of signature, searing jabs of electric slide guitar, the album opening "Back to the Well” signals the end of the “long dry spell” Parnell laments in the lyrics.

Carl Perkins once said that if a man lives long enough, he'll run into himself again. It appears the 49-year-old Parnell has reached that exalted plateau, because on Back To the Well he's trading on all the best elements that have defined his artistry since his 1990 debut for the Nashville division of Arista Records.

As Lee Roy says, "(this is the) best record I ever made in my life.” And it is...

Phil Perry : The Classic Love Songs New Album

B000e6esoy
Shanachie Records is one smooth jazz oriented label that smartly realizes that classic soul and urban music is an important complement to the R&B influenced instrumental music that makes up the genre. In recent years, they've released some successful cover albums of modern soul songs, and earlier in 2006, released Sweet Classic Soul by Maysa. Nobody knows about the crossroads of smooth jazz and old school soul better than Perry, the master of falsetto romance whose resume as a featured or background vocalist includes Lee Ritenour, George Duke, Anita Baker, Rod Stewart and Peabo Bryson. Perry's solo albums have mostly featured great original tracks, but his biggest solo hit back in 1991 was a cover of Aretha Franklin's "Call Me." So what could be more engaging than having his soothing voice breeze through tasteful arrangements of songs we all know? He's silky and whimsical on gems popularized by everyone from Marvin Gaye (dig those dreamy backing vocals on "I Want You") and Eddie Holman to The Chi-Lites and The Stylistics. Producer Chris "Big Dog" Davis ensures through his unique arrangements that these are far from glorified elevator music. Both Lionel Richie's "Hello" and The Spinners' "I'll Be Around" are recast as trippy, atmospheric romances that allow Perry to add his own unique stamp to what we've heard a million times. "Hello" in particular is a unique creative triumph, with jazzy flute and film score lush orchestra. Covers sometimes seem to an easy way to create and market a project, but Perry can be proud that he's done something very unique with the material he's chosen here.

Michael McDonald & Steely Dan Reunited

Here is this great piece of news from Billboard :
Michael McDonald and Steely Dan may be reuniting. Sources tell Billboard that McDonald, who played keyboards and sang backing vocals on such Steely Dan classics as "The Royal Scam," "Katy Lied" and "Aja," is in talks to co-headline the band's summer tour.

Each act would play its own set, and then McDonald would join Steely Dan for a number of hits on which he performed, including the 1977 No. 11 Billboard pop singles chart entry "Peg."

McDonald has scattered solo dates on the books through June 10 in Nashville. Meanwhile, Steely Dan principals Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are busy with their own solo projects: Fagen's third solo album, "Morph the Cat," arrives Tuesday (March 7) via Reprise, while Becker is at work on the follow-up to his 1994 solo debut, "11 Tracks of Whack."

"Changing face" by Till Kersting!

Till

The 26 year old guitar player, singer and composer Till Kersting combines Blues, Soul and Pop styles in a natural easygoing way. Crank up a telecaster and crown it with a rough, strong voice. In his songbook It includes the whole spectrum from uptempo songs to lyrical ballads, telling the whys and wherefores of a young man. The international rhythm section and three harmony backing vocalists tops off Till´s contemporary sound.

Till Kersting´s first self produced album was recorded in February 2005 at the Hansa Haus Studios near Cologne, Germany and Till was supported by the fabulous chief engineer Klaus Genuit, who has recorded and mixed albums by Maceo Parker, John Lord and the Brecker Brothers to name just a few.

"Lucky Devil" Johnny Colla's new album

Colla

Johnny Colla has been a fixture on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene for over 25 years. Having played for Sly and the Family Stone and Van Morrison, it wasn't until the late 70's that he teamed up with Huey Lewis to play sax and guitar for the Monday Night Live Band. A few years later they took it all the way to the top when they evolved into Huey Lewis and the News.

Although still an integral part of The News (Huey and Johnny co-produced the band’s latest release, "Plan B"), Johnny embarked upon a solo career to expand his personal musical horizons. "Deep inside, every songwriter wants to sing the songs that they write." he said. "Once a person writes something they really believe in, it's strong medicine. It's like a drug; you want to do it again and again. It's a bit self-indulgent, but songwriting is my creative outlet; It is a scratch I have to itch. I'm not looking for fame or fortune in my solo endeavor; I'm simply exploring my own beliefs and musical tastes. If I can put into words what someone else can't say themselves, I've done what I set out to do. Besides all that, it’s still great fun to jump up on stage and bash it all out!"

Johnny's new album, "Lucky Devil", is now available!
