"Copper Mountain, a Club Med experience", a DVD for Bill Champlin fans!

Dvd

As me, you probably missed that movie from 1983 starring Jim Carrey in one of his first movies and Allan Thicke, who of course co-wrote "Sara" with Bill Champlin on his "Runaway" album.
Don't expect to watch the greatest movie in the world but what's cool about it is that Bill (and Tamara) perform both "Sara" and "Take It Uptown" (entire songs) on a stage in the mountains.

Copperok

Also, Rita coolidge appears on stage performing the 1976 Boz Scaggs's hit song "We're all alone"!
Enjoy :-)

On September 12, 2006, Capitol will be releasing Bob Seger's highly anticipated first studio album in 11 years, "Face The Promise". "Face The Promise" is a return to Seger's classic form: urgent, honest, rousing, timeless - a new and compelling testament to rock and roll's undying redemptive power.

Tracklist is: Wreck This Heart . Wait For Me . Face The Promise . No Matter Who You Are . Are You . Simplicity . No More . Real Mean Bottle (with Kid Rock) . Won't Stop . Between . The Answer's In The Question (with Patty Loveless) . The Long Goodbye.

Also includes previously unreleased historical concert performances of Old Time Rock And Roll, Still The Same, and Hollywood Nights recorded live in San Diego, 1978."

Seger has sold nearly 50 million albums in his career, and this new record marks the start of a new chapter in a songbook that has captured the dreams, ideals, yearnings and truths of the American experience for a remarkable 40 years!

"Writing the Margins", John Gorka's new album in 3 years!

Read more...Gorka

"Writing the Margins" is an up-tempo collection of folk, country and pop tunes that explore love, war and hope for the future. It features special guest vocalist Nanci Griffith and Lucy Kaplansky.

By the early 80's John Gorka was the virtual house opening act at Godfrey Daniels (a coffeehouse that had just opened on the south side of Bethlehem) and many of the people he met and opened for there went on to open doors for him in other parts of the country, among them, Nanci Griffith, Bill Morrissey, Claudia Schmidt and Jack Hardy. Griffith encouraged him to enter Kerrville Folk Festival's New Folk Competition, which he won in 1984. Hardy invited him to record for the Fast Folk Musical Magazine and introduced him to the revitalized Greenwich Village folk scene.

He performed in the Fast Folk live shows which featured Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, Christine Lavin, Dave Van Ronk, Cliff Eberhardt, David Massengill, Frank Christian and Lucy Kaplansky to name a few. Not wishing to be billed as a generic, contemporary singer/songwriter, he became known as "the intense white guy from New Jersey." Still living in the Lehigh Valley of PA, Gorka became, in his words, "an outpatient of the New York folk scene."
