Discover "Sticks and Stones" by Brian Dale

Briandale

Singer, songwriter and drummer, Brian Dale is sought after for his ability to deliver music as passionate as it is intelligent, evident on his recently released CD, "Sticks and Stones". Brian was immersed in music from the beginning. Raised by dedicated musicians, he developed early appreciation for the musical qualities he exemplifies: expression, diversity, expertise, passion and style. "Sticks and Stones" is a culmination of Brian's rare musical presence and creativity. Opening track "Free and Renewed" sets the tone for the disc, with it's compelling vocal performance on top of a captivating groove; It also features the moody and soulful trumpet of Latin Jazz Grammy winner Brian Lynch. Co-produced by Joe Puerta (Ambrosia, Bruce Hornsby) and Kevin Arndt, "Sticks and Stones" is a complete package: extraordinary melodies, lush harmonies, solid grooves, creative writing, consummate musicians-an exceptional work. The outcome is original and fresh, easy to listen to. Brian has performed with Joe Puerta, Les Lokey, Ambrosia, Peter Mac and Melissa Mathes; and has been a guest performer with many different artists. He is a seasoned session drummer and vocalist with numerous CD's and jingles to his credit.

John Fogerty unleashes a rock'n'roll "Revival" on October 2nd

Fogerty

John Fogerty's contribution to popular culture cannot be overstated; his songs have become part of rock's DNA, the very building blocks upon which much of American rock and roll has been built. As the album title tantalizingly suggests, Revival represents a renewed musical spirit and heart from Fogerty that incorporates all the best elements of a career that has resonated deeply with generations of music fans and the thousands of artists that he has influenced.

"It just seemed like all the records I have made since Creedence Clearwater Revival have all been sort of pushed off center," he says. "I felt like I was dancing around the outskirts of what is my true center. With this album, I really wanted to stay on the mark, right in the middle, right where rock 'n' roll is. I wanted this one to be easier, a lot more fun than some of the past records have been."

That renewed sense of joy shines through on the self-produced Revival. The wistful, infectious opening track "Don't You Wish It Was True" instantly puts a smile on the listener's face. "Gunslinger"'s cinematic western-theme evokes vintage-era Creedence, while on the deliciously swampy "Creedence Song," Fogerty correctly and humorously assesses "You can't go wrong/if you play a little bit of that Creedence song."

Balance returns!

Bob

Shaking off the cobwebs of a 25 year slumber, BALANCE, the iconic legendary 80’s band who released such AOR masterpieces as “In For The Count” and the self titled debut, resurfaces with a vengeance.

Grammy Award winning producer / guitarist Bob Kulick whose credits read like a who’s who of Hard Rock and Metal music (Kiss, Motorhead, Wasp, Alice Cooper etc) again joins forces with one of the greatest singers of the AOR genre, former Blues Magoos, Barnaby Bye, Wiggy Bits, vocalist/ musician Peppy Castro and the other Grammy Award winning keyboardist/vocalist Doug Katsaros who has made a major mark in every musical genre, from playing with Dee Snider and Paul Stanley to working with Elton John, Rod Stewart and even on Broadway musicals.

These super talents announce the return of BALANCE with a 12 song cd of ALL new material to be released on Frontiers Records in the coming months.

“It's my second childhood. I get to relive the glory of Balance from a more relaxed perspective” says Castro, and Katsaros feels the same: “To me it feels much more relaxed, we can simply make cool music, without the concerns normally associated with making a record - we are all at such a high plateau in our current situations, I actually think it allows us to be more at ease, less stressed, and the music reflects that”.

“After the demise/breakup of the band in 1983”, says Kulick, “I toured the world as a lead guitarist with various artists (Meatloaf, Paul Stanley etc.) and everywhere I'd go I'd get great comments from fans and press alike, saying how they dug BALANCE and its music.. .it always amazed me. I can't wait for those fanatics to be satiated at last by our new cd”.

“We have a very healthy attitude” segues Castro, “The music breathes and we've been able to connect very well with each other. The great thing is that we are all such productive people. So there will be an abundance of material and we will edit our selves down to the best of the bunch and that will be the record”.

Recording of the yet untitled new album has commenced in Los Angeles and NY and the band are well into it now.

“Anyone who is or was ever a fan will not be dissappointed, in fact, there may finally be an international hit amongst the tunes on this new outing - we have all matured, and what's coming out is simply fantastic! Like the best of both of our earlier records. After all nobody sings better than Peppy, nobody rocks better than Bob, and who better in America to toss around some fat synth patches than me?” concludes Katsaros.

Ann Wilson's new album "Hope & Glory" due september 11th!

Annewilson

Ann Wilson has recorded her first-ever solo effort 'Hope & Glory,' due September 11th on Zoë/ Rounder Records. The arresting vocalist branches out with a socially conscious and thought-provoking album of songs she selected to inspire the appropriately titled 'Hope & Glory.'
Produced by Ben Mink (k.d. lang, Feist), Hope & Glory features guest appearances from iconic artists Elton John, Gretchen Wilson, Alison Krauss, Rufus Wainwright, Ann’s sister Nancy Wilson and others on unique renditions of songs made famous by Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Neil Young and more.

“Each of these songs holds a special place in my soul…At one time or another every one of them has kept me up at night to the point of exasperation and will not be banished, as I lay sleepless on my pillow. Such songs as these carry me through my life, and they are a standard to which all new music I hear and write must compare.” – Ann Wilson

With the state of our times in mind, Wilson sings the story of a fallen soldier (“Where to Now St. Peter”), recounts hardship and desperation (“Immigrant Song”) and takes an angel’s view of a battlefield (“War of Man”). Wilson ties the entire body of work together with her stirring original song entitled “Little Problems, Little Lies”, a harrowing soldier’s eye view of life on the front lines.

CTA's self debut "Full circle" now available!

Cta

CTA (California Transit Authority) is drummer Danny Seraphine's trip back to the future, effectively tipping his hat to his past as a founding member of the Grammy award-winning band Chicago, with his feet firmly planted in the here and now. Aptly titled 'Full Circle', California Transit Authority's debut album brings Seraphine back to his roots.

While CTA revisits early Chicago classics "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World" on 'Full Circle', CTA isn't just a nostalgia trip. For example, "Make Me Smile" has been transformed into an instrumental, with Marc Bonilla recreating the vocal lines on guitar. In addition, Bonilla has also re-imagined many of Chicago's classic horn parts on his guitar. Another twist is vocalist Larry Braggs, the voice of Tower of Power since 2000.

Aside from the re-workings of the Chicago tracks, 'Full Circle' revisits Bonilla's "Antonio's Love Jungle," which is given new life as Seraphine's human touch replaces the original's drum-machine rhythms; as well as "Something Different," the Cannonball Adderley track composed by a young Chuck Mangione. On "I'm The Man," guest artists Sheila E. (on timbales), Alex Acuna (on congas), and Keith Emerson (organ solo) make an appearance. And a new original track, "Several Thousand," features guest vocalist Wes Quave.

1) Something Different
2) Introduction
3) South California Purples
4) Make Me Smile
5) Several Thousand
