American Beat Records, a new label to keep an eye on!
September 06, 2007
On January 9th 2007, Allumination Filmworks launched the American Beat Records label with the release of their first batch of classic reissue CD's. Included in that first batch were discs from such artists as Brian Setzer, Gary U.S. Bonds, George Jones, Ian Hunter and Graham Parker. Since those first releases, they have continued to add to their reissue library on a monthly basis. their roster now includes Joe Jackson, Haircut 100, Chuck Berry, Nils Lofgren, Willie Nelson and many other top-notch artists. A lot of surprises to come!!!
After, we have been talked about the reissue of Tommy Shaw's "Ambition" amazing album, there's 3 other releases to pay attention:
Billy Squier's third album, Emotions In Motion, reached #5 on the U.S. pop charts, in part due to heavy radio and MTV airplay of the title track and the smash "Everybody Wants You". Squier continues his Led Zeppelin influenced, radio-friendly rock sound with what All Music Guide calls his "most consistent solo record to date." To top it off, the album art was commissioned by legendary artist Andy Warhol.
Cleveland native Eric Carmen first rose to prominence as the lead singer and chief songwriter for the 70's pop group The Raspberries ("Go All The Way", "I Wanna Be With You"). Following their breakup, Carmen forged a solo career and earned instant success with "All By Myself" and "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again". Boats Against The Current and Change Of Heart are two long out-of-print releases that showcase Carmen's outstanding singer/songwriter style that made him a household name in the 80's.
Grammy award winning artist Rodney Crowell (1989 Best Country Song - "After All This Time") has scored 10 country-charting albums and 24 country-charting singles (five #1 songs!) during his career that has spanned nearly three decades. This self-titled album, originally released in 1981, includes his hit songs "Stars On The Water" and "Victim Or A Fool". This is the first time that this monumental release has been released on CD!
