Powerhaus, Live in DVD! The Peter Wolf All Star Band in concert in Ojai, California feat. Richard Page, Bobby Kimball, Tommy Funderburk and more

Powerhaus

Long viewed as one of Southern California’s spiritual and cultural epicenters, Ojai, California now welcomes a powerful cross-section of the music industry’s most respected players. The captivating lakeside stage has revealed headlining acts that include one of the greatest theatrical cult rock bands, “The Tubes”, as well as the classic rock sensation the “Starship”, featuring Mickey Thomas.

Performing between “The Tubes” and the “Starship” is the cream of the crop of the super-star studio musicians : “The Soul System”, organized and conducted by the legendary and knighted Austrian producer/ pianist / composer, Peter Wolf, the band’s keyboardist. A cultural icon in his native Austria, Peter is regarded across Europe as rock’s Beethoven of our time. Peter is most remembered in the U.S. as the remarkable keyboardist for Frank Zappa and The Mothers. Although currently composing filmscores for 70 + piece orchestras, Peter has taken the time to weave together a special tapestry of compositions that are guaranteed to dazzle all those within earshot.

The Soul System’s legends include the drummer of unsurpassed rhythmic foundation, Steve Ferrone (Eric Clapton, The Average White Band, Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers).

Accompanying Steve is the amazing Alphonso Johnson (Santana bassist and USC music professor, etc.), as well as the highly sought Tim Pierce on guitar (Guitarist for Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Phil Collins, Faith Hill, etc.). Additionally, the band is enlivened with the power horn section from Earth, Wind & Fire, led by the 7-time grammy award winner, Jerry Hey.
Always giving everyone a trumpet lesson, Jerry has appeared on over 800 albums (From Paul McCartney to Quincy Jones, etc.).

A project feat. Richard Page, Bobby Kimball, Tommy Funderburk and more

The Soul System’s accomplished vocalists include, Bobby Kimball (lead singer, Toto), Tommy Funderburk (lead singer), Richard Page (lead singer, Mr. Mister) and the dynamic Michelle Wolf. Santa Barbara’s own longtime favorite son, “Spencer The Gardener” opened the day with his colorful band and a “special musical guest”. This event is a “must see” for all contemporary music students and teachers in the region, especially The Tubes and Starship connoisseurs. With such a line-up, along the picturesque lakeside, an unforgettable musical experience shall be enjoyed by all...!!!

A dvd of the concert (shoot in early September 2006) was released and will be available soon! Stay Tuned...
