Interview with Jon Herington at

Jon Herington is a guitarist at peace. But, at an arm’s length, anyone will tell you that he has one of the music industry’s most coveted gigs – a gig that has long been a magnet to critical criticism or critical acclaim for one of music’s most creative groups, Steely Dan. At a conversational distance, you’ll discover that not only has Jon executed the most complex guitar parts for Donald Fagan and Walter Becker over the past eight years, but has found creative balance as a musician, producer and writer that subscribes to the same standard of musicianship as the Dan. Listen closely to his personal work and you’ll be mildly surprised to find that Jon Herington approaches his music like that of a qualified artist, both lyrically and musically. So sit back, and listen to our guest expound on his musical roots as well as his musical theories and perspectives. Inside MusiCast welcomes Jon Herington.

"The greatest wonder" by Khymera

Born as studio project featuring Kansas’ Steve Walsh and Italian multi-instrumentist Daniele Liverani (Genius), Khymera reaches the third chapter with its ultimate evolution in a stable band’s lineup and musical concept.

With british twin brothers Tom and James Martin (House of Lords, Ted Poley) working on the complete songwriting and a line-up that – following the amazing responses gathered by the second album “A New Promise” – features again Liverani’s keyboards prowess, Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) on bass and vocals, Tommy Ermolli on guitars and Dario Ciccioni (Hartmann) on drums, Khymera offers one of the most shining examples of what European Melodic Rock is all about: crystal clear production, soaring vocals, killer musicianship and a songwriting that reminds the heydays of the genre when bands like Giuffria, Icon and Signal ruled the airwaves !

Just like the previous record “A New Promise” delivered a melodic rock selection, the new one showcases a richer and more mature songwriting along, with truly oustanding musicianship.

The next step for Khymera will be the debut as live unit on stage and plans are already underway for a live debut in the European melodic festivals of 2008.
