"Clifton Hill", Honeymoon Suite's new album.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the European release of the brand new HONEYMOON SUITE album entitled “Clifton Hill” on October 10th 2008.

Formed in 1982 by Derry Grehan (guitar) and Johnnie Dee (vocals and guitar), HONEYMOON SUITE have achieved well over a million album sales worldwide earning them multiple gold and platinum awards, thus becoming one of the most successful Canadian acts on the international markets. Albums such as the self-titled debut, “The Big Prize”, “Racing After Midnight” and “Monsters Under the Bed” are considered by press and fans like real classics of the Melodic Rock genre.

During the last 20 years the band had been touring with the likes of Heart, Journey, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Saga, Status Quo, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, Night Ranger and other successful classic Rock and Hard Rock bands.

Honeymoon Suite’s original line-up reformed in 2007 and after a very successful year of touring, is now on the road again for the summer of 2008. The band will continue their non-stop touring schedule with summer shows alongside Loverboy, April Wine, Kim Mitchell and other classic rock acts.

In the meanwhile Derry and Johnnie started working on a new album together with the collaboration of original debut album producer Tom Treumuth and deciding to call it “Clifton Hill,” after the Niagara Falls, ON location where the band was formed 25 years ago. Derry Grehan explains “Clifton Hill is a famous landmark right dead centre of all the tourist activity in Niagara Falls. The picture on the album cover was taken there back around the mid-eighties when it was still a kind of cheesy tourist trap, and we wanted to show that side of it. We of course see the whole thing differently than the millions of tourists who visit there every year. The picture is also cool because we shot our "Burning in Love" video there in the early 80's, and that’s just what it looked like then”.

On the music included on the new album, Derry has to say that “Every time Johnnie and I sit down to write a record, the sound does progress because we have lived a lot more of life than when we were all kids. We never say “the new songs are going to sound like this or that”, but this whole new album has really been somewhat of a return musically to the sound that we had in the 80's. It's produced by Tom Treumuth who did our first record, so it seems we've all come full circle, hence the title "Clifton Hill".

The result is a incredibly mature and inspired album with all the trademarks of the classic Honeymoon Suite sound, chock full or great rock songs and fascinating mid tempos and ballads.
An amazing return of a truly great band, don’t miss it !

Billy Chinnock's "Badlands" now reissued at Collectors's choice Music!

Like Bruce Springsteen, Bill Chinnock was discovered by legendary producer John Hammond, Sr. (who called Chinnock “The real essence of American music”), and like Bruce, he played with Garry Tallent, Vini Lopez and Danny Federici. In fact, Chinnock fronted the band that was to become the E Street Band, and while he didn’t achieve the superstardom of his successor at the helm, he still put out a series of critically-acclaimed albums, of which this one, his 1978 release for Atlantic, is considered one of the best. Includes 'Outlaw; Badlands' (not the Springsteen tune, but a Chinnock original); 'Another Man Gone Down; Lion in the Park; Something for Everybody; Is That What Love Is; Crazy Ol’ Rock ’N’ Roll Man', and 'Prisoner'. A 'Collectors’ Choice Music' exclusive!

Brian Wilson That Lucky Old Sun and a new concept album

Brian Wilson "That Lucky Old Sun": a new album

Brian Wilson has announced his return to Capitol Records / EMI, his original label home. Brian Wilson's new album, "That Lucky Old Sun," will be released by Capitol/EMI on CD, CD/DVD, limited edition vinyl and digitally on September 2 (September 1 internationally).

A musical love letter from Southern California, "That Lucky Old Sun" shimmers with sundappled choruses and arrangements that swell and swirl as if carried by the Pacific tides. One of the songs, "Midnight’s Another Day," has been described by Mojo magazine as "glorious." The album is narrated in transitional interludes spoken by Wilson as "That Lucky Old Sun," the storyteller. The narratives, cameos on life and the heartbeat of Los Angeles, propel the album’s musical story.

Last summer, Wilson found himself singing the 1949 classic song, "That Lucky Old Sun," which became the inspiration for a unique approach to what would become his new studio release. He bought Louis Armstrong’s version of the track and was inspired to collaborate lyrically with his band mate Scott Bennett, and with Van Dyke Parks, his old "sidekick," to create vibrant spoken narratives. Brian Wilson debuted "That Lucky Old Sun" at London’s Royal Festival Hall in September 2007 in a series of six sold-out and criticallyacclaimed concert performances celebrating the theatre’s restoration.

The new release is the dawning of a new California morning for Brian Wilson, continuing the awe-inspiring concept album journey that he first began four decades ago. Brian Wilson's songwriting, arranging and producing talents came together in harmonious glory for The Beach Boys' 1966 classic, "Pet Sounds," and have continued to evolve during his solo career, highlighted by his 2004 critically acclaimed "Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE". The album is also released as a limited Edition CD/DVD features exclusive "making of" with bonus video content. (DVD total run time: 26:00).

The album has been recorded most of it at Brian Wilson's house and in other studios like Wally Heider and Sunset Sound.

Toto split up confirmed

Toto split up has just been officially confirmed by the official Toto band website So Toto band ends officially:

"An Official Announcement From Toto

After a 31 year career, the current line up of Toto (Steve Lukather, David Paich, Mike Porcaro, Simon Phillips, Bobby Kimball and Greg Phillinganes) have decided to go their separate ways and begin new chapters in their lives.

The band’s final CD "Falling In Between" and subsequent tours around the world have been extremely successful and well received and we have probably been more active than ever in the band’s lifespan.

We managed to capture the last tour on a wonderful DVD ("Falling In Between Live") of which we are tremendously proud, and we all feel the time is right to disband and finish on a high.

If it were not for our loyal fans who have stuck with us through all of the ups and downs we would not have been able to have continued for as long as we did. We would like to thank all our fans all over the world who have continued to support us and we will all be very busy with our own individual projects so we hope to see many of you in the future."

What a sad piece of news!
