Mac McAnally's new album "Down By The River"

Mac

Singer Songwriter's Award Winning Talents (NASHVILLE, Tenn) Legendary musician, songwriter, producer and recording artist Mac McAnally will release his latest album Down By The River on August 4th.

The 11-song collection of new original material is also his 11th release as a solo artist and his debut for Show Dog Nashville. The self-produced album showcases McAnally, one of music's most respected creators, on acoustic and electric guitars, acoustic and electric piano, harmonica, ukulele and percussion. On the title track, you can hear the Muscle Shoals energy in the instrumentation. While songs like "On Account Of You" and "Until Then" allow his vocal and guitar work to shine through.

The album's first single, "You First," offers a poignant series of vignettes in McAnally's direct yet profound simplicity of style. He also pledged his artist royalties from the single to the Wounded Warriors Project, whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. The commitment to helping wounded soldiers fits well with the song's theme of brotherly love. Earlier this summer, McAnally performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC to honor wounded soldiers as part of The Launching Challenge America initiative. Reports from publications like the Las Vegas Sun praise, "as a wordsmith or tunesmith [he] has tales to tell. He's born to tell stories, this Mac McAnally. Set those to music, and they become hit records for the likes of Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney." And Mac's longtime friend Jimmy Buffett says, "It's great to know that Mac is back, but I want to know where he went to write such good songs as these. I want to go there too!

Now the eminently respected music maker is poised to hit another high note in his multi-dimensional list of accomplishments with Down By The River. Starting as a Muscle Shoals session musician while still essentially a child, signing as Geffen Records' first artist at the age of 16, McAnally went on to become one of the most respected guitar players in the world. He's played behind or sang harmony for artists including Roy Orbison, Hank Williams, Jr., Amy Grant, Jimmy Buffett, Travis Tritt, Linda Ronstadt, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dolly Parton and many more. As a producer, he's helmed successful projects by Sawyer Brown, Chris LeDoux and Little Feat, among others.

Mac was named 2008 Musician of the Year by the Country Music Association, the same year he was inducted into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame. He is also a 2007 inductee to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Focus on Ilse DeLange!

Ilse

I must say I feel like a damn Fool. I never heard about Ilse Delange before Bruce Gaitsch told me about this talented Dutch artist he produced for an album called "Clean Up".

After listening to several songs samples at Amazon, I just fell in love with her voice and her music!!
I'd like to share my enthousiasm with you, so here's a short view of Ilse's carreer:

Ilse DeLange was born in Almelo, Netherlands. She started her career at the age of 8 as a lip-synching artist, which won her several contests. DeLange drew greater attention after switching to a live repertoire in both regional and national talent shows in Hilversum (the Dutch city where most TV-programs are recorded). This helped her book some live-performances on national television. She formed a duo with guitarist Joop Liefland, who introduced her to country music. In 1994 Ilse performed at the Dutch Country Music Awards. She did get in touch with representatives of Warner Music but it took several years of negotiation before Warner Music decided to offer Ilse a contract. In 1996 DeLange joined the popgroup Wij where the group released the single "De Oorlog Meegemaakt" ("Experienced The War").

Wordofhurt
In 1998 she traveled to Nashville, U.S. to record her debut album "World Of Hurt" with top producer Barry Beckett. She became well-known in the Netherlands because her album was recorded in the capital of country music. Her album received big success in her home country. In Holland, Ilse received a TMF Award and an Edison Award for her musical success in 1999. "World of Hurt" features guest vocals from Vince Gill, and Ilse's cover of Beth Nielsen Chapman's song "World of Hurt", and Patty Larkin's song "Lonely Too".

In 1999 Ilse released a live album called: "Dear John", a limited edition release, on which Ilse covered songs by singer/songwriter John Hiatt as a tribute. The album went platinum in the Netherland

2000 saw the release of "Livin' on Love", which was a musical departure from her debut, leaning more toward pop/rock. "Livin' on Love" still went platinum though. With this album, Ilse gained even more State-side interest (although not released in the States) due to her covers of 2 songs by popular American singer/songwriters Buddy and Julie Miller (I Still Cry and Ride the Wind to Me), and other songs written by Patty Larkin, Jude Cole and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Alison Krauss also provided guest vocals.

Cleanup
In 2003, Ilse DeLange and her partner Bart Vergoossen went to America for 9 months to work on her third studio album "Clean Up" produced by Bruce Gaitsch. This album continued with the pop/rock sound she experimented with on "Livin' on Love". Her songwriting on "Clean Up" was autobiographical. Ilse was satisfied with the results and the album became a big success. During this time DeLange donated a contribution to the charity foundation War Child. Together with Trijntje Oosterhuis and Jacqueline Govaert she performed "Because" during a "Friends of Warchild" concert. In October Ilse released a compilation album called: "Here I Am - 1998/2003". The album went Platinum and contained DeLange's best work in a single release.

Thegreat
In 2006, Ilse began working with top producer Patrick Leonard (Madonna, Peter Cetera, 3rd Matinee) on a new album called "The Great Escape". A week after its release, the album went Gold, and Platinum. A second single was released "The Lonely One" which peaked at #18. Her third single, "I Love You", was released in February 2007'. It peaked at #23. The song was included on the soundtrack for the Dutch movie adaptation of "Steel Magnolias" (based on the movie with Julia Roberts).

"Incredible", her new record was released this year!

Discover the music by Joshua Singleton...

Joshua

Born and raised around Jackson, Tennessee, Joshua Singleton comes from a musical family that includes a grandfather who hung out with Elvis, a mother who is a long time singer/songwriter and a brother who has two number one country hits under his belt. He's been musically inspired since he could walk the delta blues from Memphis, rockabilly from Jackson, and country from Nashville.

He cut his teeth in the clubs on Beale Street in Memphis and Broadway in Nashville, and went on to tour most of the U.S., France, and Sweden. In 2004, after two years of living in France, Joshua returned to the U.S. and took a serious step into songwriting, and today he is becoming a welcome new roots rock sound in the U.S.

In life, Joshua is pure politeness with a hint of mischief, a southern gentleman with a strong set of values that his father, a preacher, gave him. The stage is his confessional and his audience his confessor, where he confronts love and whiskey, hurts and triumphs with raw power and a spellbinding voice.

Frederic Slama returns with a new AOR record "Journey To LA"

Aor-journeytola

Escape Music are pleased to announce their next release - the new AOR album Journey To LA, due for release in Europe on August 28, produced By Frédéric Slama and Tommy Denander.

Frédéric Slama was born in Paris, France but lived in L.A. for more than 10 years where he became friend with many famous artists & studio players. After releasing a couple of solo albums in the 80's and producing some French and American artists, Frédéric decided to start a "one man band". This marked the birth of his project AOR, always using the cream of U.S session players. Several albums have resulted since and now in 2009, the magic trio is back: Frédéric Slama, Tommy Denander & Philip Bardowell (The Beach Boys, Places Of Power) has teamed up again for a new album Journey To L.A, taking Westcoast and AOR music to a new level of perfection.

With the help of top session players such as Steve Overland (FM), Steve Lukather & Fergie Frederiksen (Toto), Dane Donohue, Bill Champlin (Chicago), Bruno Levesque (Silence), David Williams (Michael Jackson, George Benson) & many more, Frédéric delivers by far his most impressive and melodic work in the vein of Toto, Foreigner or Survivor, mixing elements of Westcoast with more aor rock oriented songs.

Classic Westcoast lovers won't be disappointed too with several songs taking you back to the L.A. music scene of the early 80's. Tommy Denander's production on Journey To L.A is without a doubt one of his finest and the melodies and the solos will haunt you thru' this incredible AOR journey.
