Come Together Now- Help for Haiti
February 28, 2010
“Come Together Now (Music City Unites for Haiti)”, the brainchild of Contemporary Christian artist, Michael W. Smith, who wrote the song with David Mullen and Cindy Morgan, is now available for purchase and download on iTunes and Amazon.
Spurred by the 7.0 earthquake that hit the island nation on January 12th, the song was written on January 15th and picked up momentum from there. Two short weeks later, the day began with a choir of 250 children from New Hope Academy in Nashville and ended with a choir of over 100 (adult) artists from various genres of music joining voices. Among the talent roster were The Oak Ridge Boys, Point of Grace, Casting Crowns, Restless Heart, Wynonna Judd, Matt Maher and Donovan Tea of The Lettermen. Voices also added were Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood, Toby Mac and Stephen Curtis Chapman. With everything donated for the project, 100% of all funds raised will go to Samaritan’s Purse and the American Red Cross to aid in the relief efforts in Haiti.
