«I have been singing and playing piano since I was seven, My grandpa Johnny Bertino taught me the great standards and good old country western hits of the 50's and 60's..... He taught me good chord structure and basic music theory in a working musicians language and then I took what he taught me and developed my own style. In my teens began writing my own material and I fell in love with bands like Chicago, Steely Dan, Toto, Earth Wind and Fire, and artists like Michael McDonald, Chritopher Cross, and Gino Vinelli, I have played music all my adult life mainly in churches and small concert settings and kind of thought my dreams of breaking through had passed.

I am now 53 and things have totally opened up for me!!! I posted a video of me playing "Aint No Sunshine When She's Gone" by Bill withers in August of 2015 and that is when it all started. Someone in Texas heard it on YouTube and helped me make an incredible demo which got into the hands of Tom Hemby and Michael Omartian!!! Tom approached me about producing my project and the rest is history…. 

This has been such an amazing journey and I am humbled and honored to have these incredible artists add their touch to "Soulscripted"....
