Bill Champlin tour dates in Norway with TOBB...

Bill
Bill Champlin will do some shows in Norway joining the band TOBB (The Original Bullshit Band).

The band is born in Oslo and its members are: Knut Anders Sørum (vocals), Javed Kurd (guitar, vocals), Lars Endrerud (bass), Erik Smith (drums), Trond Nagell-Dahl (keyboards, vocals), Steinar Borvik (saxophone), Torbjørn Sunde (trombone, vocals) and Rune Haglund (trumpet, vocal).

TOBB

The 'Limahl'-haired aspiring young musicians, wearing sweaters of angora and embarrassing trousers, passionately developing good grooves and creative interplay around soul, funk and r&b, weren't particularly concerned about their nameless status either. Moreover, they had come to realize that every cool band name they could think of already had been snatched up by other musicians. Name suggestions like 'The Trembling Coconuts' was rejected. 'I Promise It's Piña Colada' was also rejected. That's the simple reason why the band ended up with such a flattering name: TOBB :-) Anyway, don't miss them LIVE if you like "groovin'"!!!

Bill Champlin with Tobb concerts: 12 May Larvik, 13 May Bergen, 14 May Kristiansand, 15 May Sarpsborg

Michael McDonald & Steely Dan Reunited

Here is this great piece of news from Billboard :
Michael McDonald and Steely Dan may be reuniting. Sources tell Billboard that McDonald, who played keyboards and sang backing vocals on such Steely Dan classics as "The Royal Scam," "Katy Lied" and "Aja," is in talks to co-headline the band's summer tour.

Each act would play its own set, and then McDonald would join Steely Dan for a number of hits on which he performed, including the 1977 No. 11 Billboard pop singles chart entry "Peg."

McDonald has scattered solo dates on the books through June 10 in Nashville. Meanwhile, Steely Dan principals Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are busy with their own solo projects: Fagen's third solo album, "Morph the Cat," arrives Tuesday (March 7) via Reprise, while Becker is at work on the follow-up to his 1994 solo debut, "11 Tracks of Whack."

Michael Jones's "Prises & reprises" tour in France

Prise2

I had the great pleasure to enjoy Michael Jones's live performance yesterday in Lisse (suburb of Paris). Just one word: AMAZING!
The welsh talented guitar player and singer offered us two hours of pleasure performing songs from his two last recordings "A consommer avec modération", "Prises et reprises" and a few surprises.
A lot of emotion with "Le grand Frère" written by Gildas Arzel (Canada) about singer John Forgerty and "Va t'en" my all time favorite Michael's tune.

A lot of energy with the first single from the new record "Le frère que j'ai choisi" and "La demoiselle", duet with Sandrine Regot.
A lot of Revival with "J'ai marcher sur Memphis", cover of Marc Cohn's popular hit "Walking in Memphis" and The creedence Clearwater Revival's "Rollin' on the river" to name a few.
A lot of blues, "Un dernier blues pour toi", "Un p'tit blues peinard", "Des nuit trop longues"...
A lot of jokes and fun caus' Michael Jones is a "funny" guy too:-)
