"Like everyone else in the world, I was devastated by the loss and suffering of the people of South Asia after the tsunami and decided we had to do something to make sure help and awareness would continue for a long time to come," said Celine Dion. "Our goal is to raise one million dollars but we're hoping to go far beyond that since all the money is going to UNICEF to help these people get their lives back. It's going to be a very special night, for a great cause, and the support we've been getting from our sponsors and the fans has been amazing."

Regularly priced tickets are on sale now for the Sunday, May 8 performance by calling 1-877-4-CELINE. In addition, funds are being raised through sponsorship packages, a special commemorative program book, collection boxes in The Colosseum and a silent auction preceding the show. "With each performance of A New Day..., Celine brings joy, inspiration and a touch of hope to her audience," said Timothy J. Leiweke, president and CEO of AEG. "The May 8 performance will allow her to reach beyond those that fill The Colosseum every night and touch the lives of those who are most in need of these gifts right now."

"Mothers and children have been central to UNICEF's mission for the past 60 years. On this Mother's Day, it is especially poignant that Ms. Dion has chosen to use the spotlight afforded to her to speak out on behalf of all mothers, everywhere, who want the best for their children -- a simple message we can all embrace, wherever we live," said Charles J. Lyons, President, U.S. Fund for UNICEF. "We are grateful to Ms. Dion for helping to maintain public attention to the needs of those affected by the tsunami -- it is crucial that awareness and support continue for the long-term rebuilding and rehabilitation phases."

UNICEF has a strong presence in the regions worst affected by the tsunami, making it especially well positioned to provide urgent and sustainable help when the disaster struck. Working with governments, other UN agencies and the broader relief community, UNICEF's work has focused on four chief areas: child survival, family reunification, child protection and getting schools up and running.

The viewers of Fox-TV's massively popular "American Idol" series decided which song would be released as a charity single by voting online for their favorite among three choices. So many viewers cast votes that all three songs will be included on the single.

The lead track, "When You Tell Me That You Love Me," was a No. 2 hit for Diana Ross in the United Kingdom in 1991. The song is the biggest Diana Ross hit in the last 18 years. Written by John Bettis and Albert Hammond, the song was also recorded as a duet between Julio Iglesias and Dolly Parton. The version by the "American Idol" finalists was produced by Desmond Child and includes vocals by the top 12 contestants: Bo Bice, Lindsey Cardinale, Anthony Fedorov, Mikalah Gordon, Constantine Maroulis, Anwar Robinson, Scott Savol, Jessica Sierra, Vonzell Solomon, Nikko Smith, Nadia Turner and Carrie Underwood.

Desmond Child has written and/or produced hits for Ricky Martin, Cher, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Kiss and Alice Cooper. "We are so grateful for the generosity of the RCA Music Group, 19 Entertainment and the talented musicians on 'American Idol,'" said Marsha J. Evans, President and CEO of the American Red Cross. "Every eight minutes, the Red Cross responds to a disaster with the financial help of supporters like RCA, 19 Entertainment and 'American Idol.' We couldn't do it without their help and that of thousands of caring Americans each year."

"The American Idol Season 4" compilation album will be released by 19 Recording/RCA Records on May 17. The first three "American Idol" compilation albums have sold a total of 2 million copies.

"These are three great classic songs and a wonderful cause to help. The American Idol finalists unite for a truly worthy and special undertaking," Clive Davis, Chairman CEO BMG U.S.

The fourth season album will also feature solo performances by the current top 12 finalists, one of whom will be the new "American Idol" when this season concludes May 25.

"This has been a great year for idol, it is the most watched season ever with the most talented group of singers to date, their spirit and friendship is inspiring." said Simon Fuller, Founder & CEO of 19 Entertainment. Clay Aiken news update: Clay Aiken in Tsunami area, Clay Aiken Kids Choice, Clay Aiken to Present the "Able To Serve" Awards.

- Clay Aiken went to tsunami area in Indonesia -

Clay Aiken, UNICEF ambassador, recently toured the Indonesian province of Aceh, one of the areas hit hardest by the December 26 tsunami. "The trip was for fact-finding purposes," Clay Aiken told the Jakarta Post. "There are citizens in the U.S. who have offered their time, effort, money and resources and there are some who try to find out where their money is going and what type of work is being done."

Although media has set tsunami aside from its spotlight, the world has not yet called a halt upon the assistance given in order to rebuild the devastated countries. One of them came from Clay Aiken, the US goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. He visited the Indonesian devastated province, Aceh, on March 14-16.

"My purpose of coming here is to ensure that the aid given from the USA have been used correctly," said he during an interview in Aceh.

- Clay Aiken Kids Choice -

Clay Aiken's track "Invisible" is currently available on Nickelodeon's "Kids Choice" CD.
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards are broadcast April 2, 2005 on Nickelodeon.

- Clay Aiken With Youth Service America to Present the "Able To Serve" Awards -

Youth Service America and the Bubel/Clay Aiken Foundation are pleased to announce the Clay Aiken ABLE to SERVE Awards, which will provide 50 grants of up to $2,000 each to youth with disabilities for community service projects on National Youth Service Day, April 15-17, 2005. Youth Service America is partnering with four premiere national organizations that work with youth with disabilities, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, National Service Inclusion Project, and VSA arts, to distribute the grants.

The Able to Serve Awards will provide young people with disabilities the opportunity to work side-by-side with youth without disabilities to serve their communities. Award winners will be eligible for an additional grant of $1,000 for the purpose of continuing the service project beyond National Youth Service Day.

"Service, and the learning that goes with it, fosters citizenship, knowledge, and personal development in everyone, young and old, with disabilities and without," said Clay Aiken, who was appointed National Ambassador for the US Fund for UNICEF in 2004. "Our partnership with Youth Service America will bring awareness to the fact that youth with disabilities are great assets and can serve as volunteers too."

Clay Aiken, whose debut album "Measure of a Man" sold nearly 3 million copies, has long been passionate about working to help youth with disabilities. Before his success on American Idol catapulted him into stardom, Clay studied Special Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He taught and mentored a student with autism named Michael Bubel, and formed a close bond with the Bubel family. In 2003, Clay Aiken and Michael's mother Diane Bubel launched the Bubel-Aiken Foundation to create awareness about the diversity of individuals with disabilities and the possibilities inclusion can bring.

Tsunami Aid: Force of Nature Concert in Kalua Lumpur, Malaysia, feat. Black Eyed Peas, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean.

As news on the Tsunami disaster fades away in the U.S. many in the music industry refuse to forget and are pledging their support in big ways and in far away lands to help in the long-term rebuilding of regions affected by the Tsunami. Several international artists -- including Black Eyed Peas, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean -- will perform live at the Force of Nature Concert for Tsunami Aid to be held on March 18, 2005 at Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Force of Nature Concert for Tsunami Aid is the first initiative of the Force of Nature Aid Foundation, a non-profit organization in Kuala Lumpur, that is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the victims of natural disasters. This is not just a one time event, but rather the commencement of a long-term fundraising program to help rebuild the affected communities; rejuvenate the livelihoods of those who have lost so much; and empower and motivate individuals and corporations around the world to continue supporting aid and educate a world-wide audience about the effort.

"Forces of nature comes in many forms, some beautiful, others devastating, but one is more extraordinary than them all, mankind's overwhelming impulse to reach out to those in need. The more people unite under this common human instinct, the greater its power. In the end, the consortium hopes to create a Force of nature that can change the world," said Mr. Razali Ismail.
The Foundation's campaign titled "I am a Force of Nature" is a global movement created with the mission of empowering people from all over the world to get involved over the long-term in assisting with aid efforts for countries affected by natural disasters.
Mr. Razali Ismail, the Appointed Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of Malaysia's Tsunami aid efforts and former Malaysian UN President, is spearheading the Force of Nature Aid Foundation.

Force of Nature Concert for Tsunami Aid is being underwritten by a consortium of Malaysian private enterprises. This support allows 100% of the proceeds from the concert to go towards the long-term regeneration of Malaysia's neighbors, so devastated by this catastrophic event.
A prestigious committee of celebrities and industry heads including: Harvey Weinstein, Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh have come on board with Mr. Ismail as members of the working committee to spread the word about this unprecedented event.
