Morrison-Williams, 1100 Springs & Texas Unplugged releases on Palo Duro Records.

Shayne Morrison and Clint Williams knew they were a perfect musical match when they began collaborating six years ago after being introduced by a record shop owner in Tyler, Texas.  Back then, they channeled their efforts toward bassist Morrison’s band, Perfect Stranger; Williams eventually joined the band as its lead singer.

The pair began writing together sporadically, and submitted a song for the soundtrack to the 2004 film, The Alamo. When producers chose to use an all-instrumental score instead, Morrison and Williams decided it was time to record those tunes on their own.

The result is Morrison-Williams’ self-titled debut on Palo Duro Records. The disc of easy country rockers and soulful ballads could catapult them beyond the level of fame Perfect Stranger earned with its indie hits, the Vince Gill-penned “Ridin’ the Rodeo,” and “You Have the Right to Remain Silent,” which became the title of the band’s 1995 Curb Records release. That album reached No. 4 and stayed on Billboard’s country chart for 40-some weeks.

Eleven Hundred Springs is an anomaly - a hard-working band of country rockers that could easily be the modern poster boys for slacker country. The "long-haired, tattooed hippie freaks" tap into folks like Willie Nelson, Buck Owens and Doug Sahm for their influences, and their hard-core country fans pack dancehalls throughout Texas to drink in their fill of outlaw country music (and more than a few Lone Star longnecks).

Formed from the remnants of Dallas rockabilly band Lone Star Trio in 1998, EHS is made up of founding members Matt Hillyer (lead vocalist, guitar, primary songwriter) and Steve Berg (upright bass, harmony vocals), along with Aaron Wynne (pedal steel), Chris Claridy (lead guitar, harmony vocals) and former Toadies drummer Mark Reznicek. Their sound is Texas music, deeply rooted in traditional 'old school' country.

The band's latest release, "Bandwagon", is filled with new and updated songs mostly self-penned by the band itself. Hillyer continues to dominate the credits with crowd-pleasing redneck-anthems "Thunderbird Will Do Just Fine" and "Long-Haired Tattooed Hippie Freaks", but the group's writing talent doesn't stop there; "Hank Williams Wouldn't Make It" (Aaron Wynne) is quickly becoming a Texas-classic, and the outlaw-gospel "Straighter Line" (Claridy, Hillyer, Wynne) has received much critical acclaim. Clearly, these guys are much more than just another pretty face.

Coproduced by Tommy Detamore (Clay Blaker, Bill Kirchen, Doug Sahm), the CD features a rare recording of "Why You Been Gone So Long?" with the late rockabilly-legend Ronnie Dawson. Recorded during an rehearsal session in 1993, The Hillyer/Dawson duet serves a powerful tribute to the memory of "The Blonde Bomber" to whom the album is dedicated.

Eleven Hundred Springs has opened shows for Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Dale Watson, Robert Earl Keen, The Derailers, Billy Joe Shaver, Charlie Robison, Hank WIlliams III, Supersuckers, Reverend Horton Heat and Jack Ingram.

Texas Unplugged (tm) is the first volume in a new series to celebrate the diversity of Texas music, with one catch - everything on the album was performed using acoustical instruments - nothing electric was allowed.

Imagining simple guitars and fiddles?  Think again! With instruments ranging everywhere from Egyptian camel combs to Mexican kettle drums, these talented performers created huge sounds that are anything but your grandpa's acoustic performance.

Volume One features all-new recordings from TC Taylor, Mike McClure, Becca Dalrymple, Ed Burleson, Houston Marchman, Deryl Dodd, Sisters Morales, Terri Hendrix, Eleven Hundred Springs, Larry Joe Taylor, Brian Burns and Tommy Alverson.

John Mayer Trio: Pino Palladino (bass), John Mayer (guitar, vocals), Steve Jordan (drums), John Mayer trio formed, John Mayer Trio tour

John Mayer Trio: Pino Palladino (bass), John Mayer (guitar, vocals), Steve Jordan (drums), John Mayer trio formed, John Mayer Trio tour.

Never one to rest on his laurels, three- time Grammy-winning, multi-platinum-selling writer/singer/guitarist John Mayer announces the formation of John Mayer Trio. This new venture marks the next phase in the remarkable evolution of a gifted, adventurous and prolific young artist who, in just the last few months, has performed and/or recorded with Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, John Scofield and Herbie Hancock, among others.

Joining John Mayer in this new undertaking are drummer Steve Jordan (Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones) and bassist Pino Palladino (the Who, Jeff Beck), a pair of in-demand veterans who are readily acknowledged by their peers as the very best at their respective instruments. John Mayer is thrilled that these two greats have chosen to join him in his latest musical adventure.

"Steve and I had been doing sessions together, and we were scheduled to do the Tsunami Aid benefit," John Mayer recalls. "So Steve said, 'I know who we can get -- Pino Palladino.' I said, 'I'd love to play with Pino.' Pino came and we rehearsed Jimi Hendrix's 'Bold as Love' for the benefit. And something happened that I had hoped my entire life would happen, which is that thing about how a band got together for the first time, and everyone in the room just knew there was something special. When it became me, Steve and Pino, it became this whole different thing. That set me off on a writing streak; the challenge was, 'Here's this great band -- now what are you gonna do with it?' So I went and wrote from a whole new place. So it became a band."

The trio -- who subsequently appeared at the 2005 Grammy Awards ceremony performing a captivating rendition of John Mayer's "Daughters" (which took home that evening's awards for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance) -- will unveil their electrified sound on a fall tour of North America , including three dates with the Rolling Stones (dates below). Ray LaMontagne and Joss Stone have been confirmed as special guests on selected shows, while other support acts are still to be announced.

John Mayer's fans are already familiar with his guitar skills and willingness to push the envelope of his music from having attended his concerts, but expect this stripped-down configuration to take these elements to another level altogether, as he answers the musical challenges provided by his gifted bandmates.

"This trio tour isn't just an excuse to blow on the guitar," says John Mayer. "It's an opportunity to present my fans with something live, in the sense of living now -- that classic palate. I want people to show up at the gig and see the amp lights glowing and hear that idling buzz. I just want to bring people that power."

This new venture is a testament to the tremendous respect John Mayer has for his fans, as he continues to provide them with new musical permutations in the knowledge that they'll willingly go wherever he chooses to take them. These fans understand that Mayer is a restless spirit with an ongoing need to test the limits; indeed, that restlessness is the essence of his appeal -- it defines who he is and the path he's traveling. "I have a whole new appetite for something different," Mayer enthuses. "I want people to feel, and share, this excitement that I have."

"The Secret Of Movin' On", David Pack's long awaited new solo album!

"The Secret Of Movin' On", David Pack's long awaited new solo album!

One of music's most distinctive voices, David Pack has won acclaim worldwide for both his insightful solo work and as the charismatic lead vocalist—and guitarist—for the celebrated progressive pop-rock group Ambrosia. As a songwriter, David Pack's compositions took the band to the top of the charts repeatedly, and have delivered hits for a diverse group of artists. As a record producer, he’s worked with many of the biggest names in music, his collective works selling over 30 million units. David Pack's imprint producing and music directing truly major events includes the masterminding of President Clinton's two star-studded inaugural galas.

On "The Secret Of Movin' On," his long-awaited new solo album and debut disc for Concord/Peak Records, David Pack's ongoing evolution from his phenomenal stint as Ambrosia's frontman into the compelling artist he is today is revealed in a way that's both powerful and intimate. His creative journey paralleled by one of intense personal exploration, David Pack's latest music—as suggested by the album title—is soulful and authentic, driven by his deep commitment to a spiritual path and the earned wisdom of major life-changing experiences. "I was walking through an emotional hurricane when the opportunity came to make this CD," he explains. "As a result, it's one of my most personal, and most revealing, to date."

As ever, David Pack's stellar song craft shines through as well. In speaking about his mentors and friends Quincy Jones and the late Leonard Bernstein, David said recently, "They were larger-than-life figures who taught me that all great things start with a song. For a songwriter, a great song is like discovering a secret code that you can share with the world."
This mysterious alchemy of artistic translation that Pack refers to works magic throughout "The Secret Of Movin' On".

Highlights include four exciting new vocal collaborations with friends and guest artists, among them the moving ballad "A Brand New Start," featuring the soulful counterpoint of former Journey frontman Steve Perry, who also co-wrote and co-produced the track. "It's one of the handful of songs Steve and I wrote just after 9/11," recalls Pack, adding, "we just needed to express ourselves."

Other harmonic partnerships are the gently seductive title track, the Latin-flavored "The Secret Of Movin' On (Travelin' Light)," graced with Heart's Ann Wilson, and the folksy, "front porch-flavored" "Tell Her Goodbye," featuring David Pack in tandem with Dewey Bunnell of America. The upbeat yet bittersweet "Where We Started From" features a duet with the unmistakable, soaring voice of The Eagles' Timothy B. Schmidt. These and other tracks also feature the instrumental prowess of several of modern Jazz's top talents, including David Benoit, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte, Russ Freeman, and Eric Marienthal.

On bringing some of his oldest friends to his newest venture, David Pack commented, "Their voices remind us of how we felt at a certain time by triggering something emotionally, but it isn't just about nostalgia—it’s about connections."

Also meaningfully connecting David Pack's present to his rich past are transcendent reworks of two of his most famous compositions, "Biggest Part Of Me" and "You're The Only Woman (You & I)." Both massive Ambrosia hits, these classics sparkle with new life as David Pack reinterprets them with a spirited and jazzy contemporary flair. David Pack closes the album with songs honoring his daughters, the wistful and lovely "Think Of You (Song 4 Kaitlyn)" and "Elizabeth," featuring Beth Pack, a special needs child, ending the track with a heartfelt, "Hey dad."

Bob Dylan "Live At The Gaslight 1962", new Bob Dylan album

Bob Dylan "Live At The Gaslight 1962", new Bob Dylan album out August 30, 2005 (distributed exclusively by Starbucks).

Starbucks Hear Music and Sony BMG Custom Marketing Group today announced plans to release and distribute Bob Dylan "Live at the Gaslight 1962," an album consisting of newly restored, live recordings culled from the best of Dylan's legendary 1962 performances at New York's Gaslight Cafe. Long sought after by fans, this album represents the first time these historic recordings have been professionally produced and officially released. Beginning on August 30, 2005, the album will be available exclusively at Starbucks Company-operated stores in the U.S. and Canada.

These archival recordings capture a young Bob Dylan at a pivotal moment in his career when he began to find his voice as an innovative artist and songwriter. The 10-song CD, culled from the best of Bob Dylan's renowned 1962 sets at the Gaslight Cafe, includes the earliest surviving live recordings of "A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall" and "Don't Think Twice It's Alright," both of which Bob Dylan later released to great acclaim. Additional tracks include a third Bob Dylan original, "John Brown," as well as covers of traditional folk songs such as "The Cuckoo" and "Barbara Allen."

For the past four decades, a limited number of poor quality "bootleg" versions of Bob Dylan's performances at the Gaslight Cafe have circulated among collectors and fans. To produce this landmark album, Sony BMG mastering and audio production engineers completely remastered the best available recordings to create an album which offers a pristine version of these historical recordings -- the only version ever released with proper pitch and speed.

The exclusive release of Bob Dylan: "Live at the Gaslight 1962" coincides with the release of éNo Direction Home: Bob Dylan", a Martin Scorsese picture. The first feature-length film biography of Bob Dylan, the film is scheduled to make its U.S. broadcast premiere on American Masters, Thirteen/WNET New York's award-winning series, in September on PBS (check local listings). Beginning on August 30, the film biography's two-CD soundtrack, entitled "Bob Dylan No Direction Home: The Soundtrack - Bootleg Series Volume 7", will also be available at Starbucks Company-operated stores in the U.S. and Canada as well as at traditional retail.
